In addition to the pre-recorded presentation, undergraduate authors must present their work in an interactive, live venue that depends on the track selected. Below are a list of pre-approved venues (associated with tracks) that count towards this requirement. Some of these venues are “open” to any students, while some may be closed/restricted to only students from a specific institution. The physical venues for presentation are separate, partner events that are not run by IEEE ORSS 2023.
List of Tracks and Their Approved-Presentation Venues
International Online Open Track: These papers will be invited to online Zoom sessions in groups as part of IEEE ORSS 2023 and asked to deliver short presentations that summarize their work followed by a Q&A period. Check back on the website for updates regarding dates and times.
Atlanta, GA Open Track: Accepted authors who have chosen this track will have the opportunity to present at a poster session at the Opportunity Research Scholar’s banquet and symposium, to be held on the campus of Georgia Tech on 26 April 2023. This venue is open to all qualifying students from any institution. More information will be available at the GT ORS website.
Maine Track: Accepted authors must be University of Maine students who will present at the annual University of Maine Student Symposium to be held on 14 April 2023.
Idaho Open Track: This track is hosted by Northwest Nazarene University and Idaho State University. Accepted authors will present online on 17 April 2023 and may be from any Idaho or regional institution.
Boston Open Track: This track is hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is open to all Boston area students and beyond. Accepted authors will be given the opportunity to present at a poster symposium to be held in Boston on 23 June 2023.
Bucknell Track: Accepted authors must be Bucknell University students who will present at the Kalman Research Symposium to be held on 1 April 2023.
Tulsa, OK Open Track: Accepted authors will be given an opportunity to present a poster at the local IEEE Tulsa Section Poster Competition at Tulsa Community College on 18 April 2023.
